You know me Terry? A real 'night owl' although I am on my way to bed now :)
It sounds like the issue it at your end, as there's no problems today on messaging as I've sent and received some myself. Hope you like the IPhone - our kids love theirs. I have the Samsung Galaxy S + it's fab!
Hi Terry. I got back to the UK ok and yes I used my machine on the plane. The only problem I had was the same one I had going out. The battery worked well on the first part of the journey, but again didn't work after the stop over. The battery was giving me 3 nights worth of use on the ground, but looks like it only gives about 4 to 5 hours in the air. You have reminded me that I need to contact the place I bought the battery from to find out if that is normal, I've been so busy since I got back I'd forgotten to check with them. I'll post when I get some more info.
Glad to hear you are finding the cooler weather better for your sleep. We have had a really cold miserable April over here, so I think I might actually have liked your Aussie autumn better than our spring!
Lisa, I think I have said to Kath before that a Aussie winter day is like a English summer day LOL, only joking. The weather in Melbourne has really been nice, cool nights and mornings but sunny days. Good luck with the battery.
I just spotted this comment Terry, but you've left the comment for yourself instead of Lisa, so she might not see it. It's a bit confusing this comment lark isn't it? LOL
Thanks Terry I much appreciate your comments. The machine has been set with ramp turned off. I don't have any idea about how I can find out the EPR setting so cannot see what it is. It's a trial resmed S9 autoset which I am actually trialling on a set pressure so that I might be able to compare auto with cpap. After reading on various forums I still have no idea what would be adequate for me. I don't really want to go to expense of APAP if CPAP would be just as effective. However my trial finishes next week and I am feeling a bit panicky as I will need to decide pretty quickly about what to purchase. Mixed messages really my resp physician said that he felt that according to my sleep study results that CPAP would be fine and he would advise on pressures etc. his personal preference was for the Resmed machines however I quite liked the Phillips I trialled last week though it was an auto. The trial co. recommend auto and an independent co rep has said that CPAP is good and not worth spending extra on Auto. So in summary as a newbie [diagnosed 3 weeks ago] I am totally overwhelmed & perplexed.
Thanks again Terry for your advice much appreciated. Did you purchase your machine in Australia or buy online [USA]? Likewise is there anyone in this forum who has had experience purchasing their machine online? I imagine any warranty would only be applicable to the country from which it was purchased so I would anticipate any problems experienced whilst under warranty would mean I would bear the shipping costs. I am hopeful of eventually being able to titrate machine for my specific needs as per results downloaded from SD card. Is this what the majority of users eventually do? Is this what the aim of managing the condition is?Or do you need to have the ongoing support of an Australian distributor to adjust it? I not quite sure of what the role of the respiratory physician is apart from diagnosis and monitoring results ?from the SD card when you have 3mthly visits. Anyway I am also wondering what other drawbacks there might be in purchasing overseas. Thankyou for any comments/advice Marg.
That's fantastic progress Terry, and you're nearly there, which I'm sure hasn't been easy. Well Done! It doesn't bear thinking about how different your life might have been had you not come across OSA yourself, as still so many GPs don't consider the likelihood of depression being caused by it :( It's not surprising you're a really advocate for it.
The UK is now back to work as normal today after the Jubilee celebrations.
If you have a way to do it, can you please Terry? It won't let me sign out so that I can create a new account. I'm wondering if it's blocked my IP address - strange!! There's no rush as I don't get much time to go on, but hubby's at work so I was having a play around on various sites LOL.
Thanks Terry :) I don't know why you have a problem with messaging on here, as I've not heard of anyone having that problem. I've checked and you are a Friend on here of mine. Just double-check that you have me as a Friend (you can only message Friends). If ever you want to email me, use this account hope2sleep1@gmail.com
Fair enough but just for your information if you don't follow or friend pages and celebs you won't receive their newsfeeds. but sure, some people can't be bothered with Facebook, its how you use it. I am a Social Media Manager so i use it a lot for my job to inform customers and connect with them. It does have its good side i promise! I have started following the Hope2sleep page, if it wasn't for Facebook i would never have found you guys!! Keep up the good work Terry, its appreciated.
How very interesting, well if you need anyone to help you with strategy i know an amazing lady up here in Queensland , she runs Saucy Social Media http://saucysocialmedia.com/ she really is an absolute guru and could do amazing things for your brands without charging ridiculous prices! take a look at her website and see what you think. My role is far more humble.....i look after Social Media and PR for Maleny Dairies. We are a fourth generation dairy farm and have taken on the big guys by building our own processing plant so that we can support other farming familiies and pay them a decent price for their milk. We also run tours of the farm and factory which is quite unique for a dairy farm. Works well for me as i work from home mostly so no-one knows i am still in my P.J's!!! Have not been able to have a full time role now for years, you know why!
This discussion is reminding me of a funny post I put on Pinterest (yes, yet another place people like to be Terry Here's the link http://pinterest.com/pin/87398048990369118/
I wasn't a lover of Facebook myself, but I've realised just how valuable it is to communicate with people. I use all the different social media sites so I can help people in the place they feel more comfortable. There are lots of people who are uncomfortable in forums too. We have hundreds of visitors every day, but not everyone joins. At least they're getting help though
Social Media marketing is another ball game really. You really need someone that knows all the platforms in depth and the key is a good sound strategy. We use Facebook,Pinterest,You Tube,Twitter and Google Plus is another we are just starting with. Annie Infinite is an absolute gem. Any hoozle it sounds like you have an amazing job......you know i have just realised you are a man! I thought i had been chatting to a lady! LOL! As for medications and other stuff would rather not chat about that openly on a forum. Happy to share by email though.
Had a great Christmas thank and just preparing for our New Year Celebrations now with 6 hours to go....... Happy 2013 Terry and thank for all your imput on here during 2012
Ba Humbug - fancy someone daring to do fireworks on New Year's Eve I saw the lovely display in Sydney on the tv. London looked nice tonight at midnight too. Fireworks wouldn't have bothered me, as I'm a night owl, but my New Year's resolution is to get to bed by midnight. I made the same one last year and it never worked, so watch this space...Absolutely hated it when I fell asleep without the mask though... I used to do it in the early days when I read my book in bed before putting the mask on. Now I read on my Kindle with big fonts with the mask safely in place. Happy New Year!

to confuse m i use the words potential hydrogen commonly abbreviated pH that is little p and a capitol H sometimes both are wrongly capitalized
the little p can have three different names as follows 1)potential 2)power 3)percent
and the pH value is a logarithmic scale of 1-14
