Hi Catherine, Good to talk to you. I also have kyphoscoliosis as a result of childhood polio. I was diagnosed three years ago after a year of feeling awful - no energy, lethargy, dark moods - I'm sure you'll identify with all that. Within weeks of using the BiPAP overnight, I saw a big improvement physically but it has taken me the best part of two years to mentally accept being hooked up to the machine - I was very resentful that my body had "let me down" - silly, I know. After trying at least six mask types and getting more and more frustrated with the respiratory clinic for not listening to my needs (side sleeper/mouth breather), I am now using with some success a ResMed Quattro FX - much too big and leaky but comfortable. In desperation, last night, I ordered a small one direct from ResMed - I hope I'm not going to be disappointed. If I can get more than two hours unbroken sleep, I (and my long suffering husband) will be pleased.
If it works, the whole world will know!
I look forward to talking to you again in the future.
