Hi, When I first got my pump, I found the filtered air to be very cold and dry. The humidifier warms and moistens the air and I find that it makes a great difference to my comfort. It does add another cleaning chore (I just worked out how to take the tank apart after nearly 2 years!) The brown sludge at the bottom was pretty nasty!! Plus you should use distilled water to avoid limescale build-up.
