Hi everyone,

I've used Hope2Sleep charity several times in the past to buy CPA related stuff, including masks and other things.

I was thinking of buying a Medistrom Pilot 12 that should be compatible with my Devilbiss SleepCube - as my current Tracer battery is dying and the 96Wh model has been out of stock forever.

However, I can't understand how I can use the Medistrom with the SleepCube: the SleepCube comes with no power adapter/supply but only with a cable that goes directly from the socket into the machine, and for sure doesn't fit the Medistrom.

From what I see, the additional cable to be purchased is to connect the Medistrom to SleepCube, not the socket to the Medistrom: so how would I give power to the Medistrom?

Ha, well I'd better take the other one off stock then quick for our rental service which should be live tomorrow. Good job we found out about this though Halfluke, thanks to you. I went onto cpap . com in USA to see if we could buy some DeVilbiss2 power supplies. They were cheaper at $50 but the shipping was $49 so I changed my mind lol.

Yes it was a very sudden announcement DeVilbiss made last year about coming out of the market. Very sad too as the SleepCube/IntelliPAP1 were excellent machines. Hi! I received the power supply and finally today I decided to give it a go. I thought I could test it with my Sleepcube version 1 before actually buying the Pilot12, but - while the power cord of the Sleepcube perfectly fits the power supply - the output cable of the power supply doesn't actually fit the 12v DC input of the SleepCube.

My bad, I'll buy the Pilot12 as soon as I have some more savings.

Ah no, but worth a try. We have our battery rental service going now if that helps, but if you do rent  Pilot-12, let them know you don't need the IntelliPAP2 cable sending https://www.hope2sleep.co.uk/cpap-non-invasive-ventilator-battery-h...

I have finally been able to order my Medistrom Pilot 12 and I received it a couple of days ago. I am going to try it tonight with IntelliPAP1 and will let you know!

The device is cool as it can also be used as a UPS and it can be recharged quite quickly with the Devilbiss charger. However, I expected to last a bit longer. With my AutoCPAP machine set to 9-16 as per prescriptions - and no humidifier of course - it barely lasts 6:30 hours and then I wake up with the machine off.

Hi Hakfluke. Glad you managed to get the battery and the UPS feature really is good for unexpected power cuts. For those occasions it wouldn't usually require a full night with the battery if it's unexpected. I sure wish I'd had my UPS battery plugged in a couple of weeks ago when we had a power cut caused through a problem at a local substation. I woke up finally feeling I was suffocating! Anyway, 6.30 hours doesn't sound good though as the manufacturer does state the battery should power for 1-2 nights without a humidifier or heated hose. It always depends on many things though such as auto pressures vs fixed and how often they ramp up etc. My hubby used his with the Lowenstein Prisma CPAP and he got a full night with 80% remaining.
Just try again, making sure the battery is 100% full and if you only get 6.5 hours again then contact the manufacturer directly in case they can shed some light on this. Their customer support is very good http://medistrom.com/contact.html

I will try again tonight with my second (identical) CPAP machine, same pressure, and see if anything changes. Or I will try to contact Medistrom support as you suggested.

Let us know how it goes please Halfluke, or if you need to contact for their support, as it will help others. So far most patients have bought it for the AirSense 10, Lowenstein Prisma and DreamStation and all with good stats.

Veeeeeery late reply. The battery lasts about 8 / 8:30 hours when I set the minimum pressure to 6 (as suggested by the NHS after a new sleep study - they have also given me their ResMed now, as they cannot monitor my SleepCube). A minimum pressure at 9 was really too high. For sure it doesn't last for 2 nights, at least on the Devilbiss (tried on both my SleepCube at this point)

Kath, just a note: you should really enforce HTTPS for this forum as well, as for the main site. Nowadays HTTPS is paramount for security :-)
