Hi,
Does anyone have any experience of resmeds expensive power pack (£440!!) or any alternative versions like medicom 24 pilot at £285, obviously they need to be 24 volt and this is for tent camping without electric hook up

Hi Chris. I am NOT having ResMed power pack, as it was (and still is) too expensive, but using Medistrom Pilot-24 PLUS with a CoPilot-24. Initially I bought just Pilot-24 PLUS, which I thought it would last me couple of nights. It was a bit frightening the very first time I've used it, as I was expecting couple of nights, but was cut off second night, in the middle of the night. For that reason, I've bought CoPilot-24 and by linking them, I've extended batteries to 3 nights.
I just purchased Giaride 150Wh solar power inverter 40,800mAh battery pack, that has very positive feedbacks on YouTube, especially one from CPAP user who had 4 (four) nights with this device. Bare in mind that costs just £129.99 on Amazon, which is significantly cheaper from all the others. I was expecting to arrive between 16th and 26th February as per Amazon's 'predictions', because it was suppose to arrive from China, but to my surprise, it arrived within a 2-3 days. They must have European base for these :-) ... You will find the very same product under different names, but apart from name, all inside is the same. I bought this one to use it with my 60W folding solar panels.
Hi Chris,
I've purchased my Pilot 24 and CoPilot 24 from UKcpap (www.ukcpap.co.uk). I had a few problems with them, so I wouldn't go back to them again. I've just checked their website, and they don't sell these anymore.
I've checked for you, and the best bet would be to purchase directly from Medistrom via good old Amazon that I am using for number of years, and never ever had a problem, if I wanted to return something. In addition, price there is less from what I've paid for. I am VERY happy with both these devices that I use when outdoors on holidays. They give me 3 nights of a good sleep.

I would like to point to you my new little investment, which is Giaride Portable Generator 150Wh, which I've purchased recently. I read a few positive feedbacks and watch YouTube reviews, especially from someone who is using CPAP and he was using this device for 4 (four) nights outdoors. When I look at the price of £129.99 which is far less if you combine Pilot 24 and CoPilot 24, I had to purchase it. As I am presently in Scotland for next 2 weeks, I cannot give you any feedback about Giaride at present time, before I return to London.

Hi,
I would be interested to hear how you get on with the "generator" even having to buy a 12 to 24 converter possibly from resmed it is still relatively cheap, not sure about 4 days use? Let us know when you have done a full test. Thanks for your help,
Chris

You don't need to buy ResMeds car chager (£59), but from Medistrom, like I did. It cost £55.

You won't regret it. They are sooooo useful when outdoors.
Anyway, will post Giaride review, once I'll have it in my hands (end of the February - beginning of March) :-)
Hi, items delivered today, good quality, now on charge and will test tonight,
Chris

Hi again,
Everything seems ok apart from indicator light on co pilot has gone out, do you know if this is normal?

Hi Chris. I haven't got copilot with me now, while working in Scotland couple of months, but as far as I remember, that indicator light should be working as any other, which is when slider switch is moved to 'ON' position, but NOT when is in 'OFF' position. If it is OFF when you have slider in ON position, contact them, because you can send copilot back and they will send you new one. I can only guess that you received one with falt on that indicator?!
Hi,
Choice medical agree that it is faulty and want me to send it back to amazon and order a new one. Amazon don't really want defective batteries sent back to them and say that I have to arrange for ups to collect it and I have to send a pdf of the bill for refund. I have asked choice to arrange courier delivery of the replacement unit and collect the old one at the same time,

After long conversation with amazon they said not to bother returning it as the cost to return a package is to much. Ups didn't want to take it anyway, amazon issued a refund and replacement ordered (they only have one left) lets hope the next one is ok

That means you have a back up battery as well, brilliant!
