"Long before I knew anything about Apnoea, I knew something was wrong.  I wore a finger pulse oximeter overnight and I was shocked that it keot going off.  When I looked on the NHS website, it said the most likely dikagnoosis would be…"

"Sorry your post was overlooked. No advice regarding a pillow, except to make sure it's not too high or firm to cause your neck to drop which can block your airways more. Was the sleep study one with breathing cannulas, or just a pulse oximeter…"

I have yet to be doagnosed and am doing all the leg work myself to try and help with me sleep.I think I am veering towards probably having UARS as I don't score so highly on Epworth. I had a night study meter thing but all was ok - coincided with a couple of decent nights though!I wonder what pillows people have tried. I have ended up having three and I don't think it works as I end up sliding down! I just rememebered years ago having slept on a bolster pillow and heving one of the most restful…See More

Taking nasal sprays but not sure if they are really helping or if I'm on the correct type (any advice gratefully received).I'd like to film myself at night but unsure what kit to get. I can't have hardly any light on so wondering about infra red or some security camera device. Anyone tried this?Am so tired some days. On…See More

"How did you fasten it?I suppose you could do it with tape or elastic bands. Cut up an old fleece jacket, wrap it round the tube, strap it up, bit of velcro. That sort of thing. I hadn't really thought of that."

"Neat clip for your hose! I used to use the Respironics Comfort Curve one of the best masks ever, now discontinued of course.  With its stethoscope-style tubing, I had to make my own fleecy cover."

"Oh cool. Did you do any other DIY mods?I made a clamped strap to go on the headboard and lift the tube. Just a spare c-clamp with a bit of nylon strap and a clip but works well."

"Yes, I bought some fleecy material and made my own "snuggle hose" 10+ years ago. "

"Did you try a sleeve for the tube, Jonathan? For rain out? I got one off ebay for a few quid and I think it helps. It's a fleece sleeve  you zip over the main tube."

Oropharyngeal exercises

"An apnoea or hypopnoea of less than 10 seconds won't be reported as an event, in the same way they're not reported on a sleep study, as that's the cut-off point."
