"Hi Linda I just wanted to say thanks for sending us your surplus cushions and headgear.  We've already given out one of the cushions to someone who was struggling with a split cushion.  We really do appreciate this and so did the…"

Kath Hope replied to Linda's discussion Do charities take new surplus CPAP masks?
"Hi Linda.  Due to the way some of the manufacturer package their masks, eg multiple sizes of cushions, some clinics just hand the whole pack out to the patients, and then there are others that are more resourceful in that they take out the…"

"Thanks Kath and I will forward the spare masks on as you have suggested.  It seems very wasteful that my NHS provider gives me a pack which I believe costs well over £100 when I only require one mask.  Do you know if this is…"

when I request a replacement medium Phillips Respironics mask from my NHS provider I am given a pack that includes all size masks and new headgear.  I have queried this and have been advised this is how they are supplied.  It seems a terrible waste.  Is there a Charity that accepts the spare new masks and headgear?See More

"It sounds like your house is on the cooler side Linda.  If it's just a few droplets you can put the hose onto your machine and blow the air which will probably dry it off, but a spare hose is a good idea anyway so you don't have to…"

"Who has time to clean a tube daily?  Tubes and water tanks once a week, only masks get a wipe daily and washed every week with me anyway. Water tanks get a rinse every day, but a good wash every week."

"We sometimes hear of people who have difficulty getting their tubes dry.  I actually haven't noticed as I have a spare hose, so when I wash mine once a week I just put the spare one on it."

"Hi Linda, I just wash it in soapy water (Dish type) and hang it up in the morning, it is always dry by night and ready for use. Hang it from one end or the middle, both work just as well, anything in the tube will find its way our due to gravity. I…"
