Hi Jeannie
Pleased to hear it's arrived, and where to place it is a matter of preference. I have mine behind me, central to the pillow. However some people place them at the side of the bed or even on their bedside cabinets with the base under the machine. Have an experiment and see which you prefer and make sure there's just enough tubing hanging down so that you can move easily to the right or the left then it will turn with you. Once you've spent a few nights with it and decided on where you like it place, you can get the Hose Lift Bracket to get it even higher. I have my bracket on the wall behind my bedhead, then when you go away you simply slide the hose lift out of the bracket and use it with the base it came with. The inventor thought of everything (even base spikes for campers)
