Thanks for posting it Graeme. Michael Oko from the Snoring Disorders Centre is on the 29th, and I got contacted today about two other dr's who are appearing. Will update when we have the full itinerary. I think sleep apnoea is mainly on the 29th, but will update when I hear.

Have had a few goes at embedding a video, but it's not working.  However, if you click on this link you can get a sneak clip of Wednesday's show http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p011sf8k

Another sneak preview from Thursday's show this time about Paul introducing his CPAP to his partner and using it for the first night http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p011spcp

Just commenting to 'bump' up this post so people don't forget to watch it tonight at 9 pm.  If anyone's on Twitter, there's a live feed on #goodnightbritain

In case you missed last night's show which was very good, here's the link to it on BBC IPlayer (think you have to be in the UK to watch it though) http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p010p74y/Goodnight_Britain_Epi...
Michael Oko (Sleep Consultant to Paul, the Sleep Apnoea Sufferer in the programme) has given a good radio interview this morning. Links to it are on his blog http://www.snorecentre.com/blog/2012/11/29/michael-oko-talks-to-mel...

Both programmes were well worth watching. OSA seemed one of the more straightforward conditions, and the CPAP treatment was certainly effective in the subject's case. Mrs T remarked that he looked like a 'typical sleep apnoea sufferer' which was probably intentional.

The programme obviously set out to highlight the dangers of driving with untreated OSA, probably rightly. I don't remember this ever having been an issue when I was diagnosed, but that was a long tme ago now.

It also seemed to concentrate on the discomfort of wearing the mask and the time it takes to get used to it - the full-face mask worn by the subject certainly looked offputting, compared with some others which were shown very briefly (including a Mirage Swift I think), while it looked as if he had a ResMed S8 autoset to start with - I use a S8 Sprint which I like a lot, particularly because it is so compact - and a much larger machine later on.

Oh dear, that makes me sound like a CPAP anorak, which I certainly am not. I just recognise the sort of treatment which I have liked, and which I haven't.

Yes, I thought it was great too, and awareness was certainly achieved, judging by the amount of emails + phone calls etc I'm having, which I assume will be the same for all others involved in OSA.

I was really pleased John was filmed behind the wheels of the HGV truck, as so many people avoid diagnosis for fear of losing their jobs and licence.  Just a pity they didn't show more of the smaller masks as well though.

The machine they showed later on was the one I use (Respironics System One) and it's very small really, but the humidifier attaches to the side, which makes it look a lot bigger.  My Sleep Cube humidifier slots under the machine, so it's neater and I use that one for travel.

By the way, Episode 2 is now available on IPlayer in case anyone missed it http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b01p53jj/Goodnight_Britain_Epi...

Airsense 10 -humidifier runs dry

Hi. I'm finding the Airsense 10 the hospital gave me, the humidifier chamber runs dry. It's not even on max settings, which I'm guessing would empty it a lot quicker. Seems like a big design oversight to me. Does anyone else have this trouble? The…See More
