breathing trouble during the day

Recently got a new machine and very pleased with it resmed s9. Liked mirage for her mask straps but have put my old comfort gel mask on it which seems perfect now as the straps don't fall off all night anymore.
Anyway it doesn't seem to have helped my problems with being out of breath in the day and feeling like i have a tight scarf round my neck stopping me breathing. has anyone else had this problem? i'd be so grateful to hear from anyone who has. now its really getting me down i thought the full pressure at night would help as my old machine wasn't working very well at all.
Is this a problem for the sleep clinic? my GP has been no help just said i don't have asthma which i know i've seen her twice so far. should i try her again or contact the sleep clinic. any suggestions? i love to hear from anyone with the same problem and how they got it sorted out?
