It's well know now of the huge link between Type 2 Diabetes and Sleep Apnoea and often when people have one of these conditions they tend to blame their tiredness on this, little realising they could also be sufferers of both. People with sleep apnoea are advised to get checked annually for diabetes, and those with diabetes should also be check for sleep apnoea. (I get checked every October by my GP for both diabetes and hypothyroidism). In fact earlier this month the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) announced that people with diabetes or hypertension should be evaluated for sleep apnoea.
