Hi
I am so sorry for not coming back to update i had to reboot my pc and lost the bookmark ...yesterday I was websurfing and came across the site again ao glad :)
Travis PSG went good he still has apnea central and obstructive but not nearly as bad as prior to op alot of his centrals were part of normal sleep as in they followed movement / sigh his average event is only 14 secs now when before it was 21 so improvement .....
Cpap for now isnt being used but is still in the equation if he doesnt gain weight and his next PSG in November is worse that his May one
He was recently diagnosed with asthma and we are a month into using inhalers daily he also had his reflux meds increased this has improved his restlessness when sleeping and reduced his stridor
They said by November that will be a year since surgery and will be the telling of what next
How is Emil doing have so much to catch up on will be reading the boards for a week
xx

Kath I was so frustrated when I lost the site bookmark I have now written it on my calendar how are you doing post op noticed any other improvements?
Rachel Im glad Emil is doing well and cpap has made a difference does he still get scoped to review his malacia ?
I was starting to be concerned things weren't good with not hearing from you, so glad you found us again.
Whilst the nose op didn't cure my sleep apnoea (which I never expected it too), it's made life with the CPAP so much more comfortable now I can breathe through my nose. When summer came I hadn't realized how nice the flowers really smelt. I can now smell them without putting my nose right into the flower with the risk of a bee stinging my nose :-D
How's hubby? Have you sorted him yet with his CPAP?

thats good news Kath .... he has not made a decision on having the surgery perhaps he will once the little ones are well enough I think he may have some fear in there too ....
His cpap mask was changed as he lost 2.5stone since starting it so it didnt fit well at all ...... worked great for a while and this last 2 weeks hes found hes waking every 2 hours so not sure whats going on there if it continues he will need to contact his resp nurse ..... He has been on CPap now almost a year in october and the difference in his energy and quality of life is huge .....
I have a ??? actually about alcohol and sleep I will post it seperately

could be possible I will need to ask him if he finds the mask slipping I just read a post about the wipes to clean the mask he was told warm soapy water so think I will invest in the wipes as he often has a residue on the silicone of the mask
He did say the head strap above his nose was causing pressureand can you get padding for it ;)
