well ive just had to stop using my blue gel resparonics mask hopefully only for a while but having problems with my teeth so ive now got a go life nasal pillow mask and was wondering if any one has any tips about using these, like do i have the hose still on my hose lift or do i clip it so it goes over my chest. Is it best to continue with humidity i have just had a lie down with them and i felt like i was unable to breath with them is this normal ?? thanks in advance for any tipssxx

I have been using one for about a month now and it does take some getting used to, if you are using respironics m/c the pressure relief ( I forget the exact term) needs adjusting, the normal mask is X2 and the go life is X3.
I don't use any clips on my hose, it just lies on bed next to me, but I do use one of Kaths hose covers.
I can't comment on humidifier as I don't have one.

ok thanks i did give it a go last night struggled all night with it so back to face mask again from to night will give it another go when i have a day off work !!!

Hi Gina. I've only been a hose head (Resmed S9 no humidifier) for about 9 months now and for the first 6 months I used the type of mask that went over the nose as well. This gave me very sore skin and I had problems with leaking. I spoke to my specailist about this and he offered me the nasal pillow mask to try. It took me about 3 nights to get used to it. The main problem for those three nights was it left me with very sore nostrils (very sore). I googled this problem and found it was common and would pass, and it did. I now use it very night, its amazing, I average about 7 hours sleep a night and the soreness has gone. As for the hose position, mine is hung over the bed post (a poor mans hose hanger) but it does the job.
Hope you get used to the new mask and you get the sound sleep we all deserve. :o)
