Painful, dry nose
Greetings everyone. I'm new to the forum and came across it whilst doing an internet search on CPAP.
It looks like a very supportive and resourceful place to be. I use a Resmed S9 (upgraded from an S8 two weeks ago) with a nasal mask. My pressure has also been increased from 9 to 12.
My nasal problem started 4/5 days after using the new machine and the increase in pressure. Have been waking with extremely dry and painful nasal passages which lasts for most of the day. - plus I've been sneezing for England!! I have also had episodes, usually later in the day, when my nose starts dripping like a tap. May seem like a bit of a contradiction there, but this is what is happening.
I spoke to one of my sleep clinic physiologists yesterday and he is going to order me a humidifier to attach to the machine and advised me to buy a nasal spay. The question is, what nasal spray? There are several on the market with different ingredients, from plain saline to steroid based. Has anyone else had this problem and, if so, any recommendations as to an effective spray or treatment?
Apologies if this has already been addressed on the forum but I couldn't find anything.

It's very common for nasal dryness and good you didn't suffer from it previously. The humidifier should sort this for you, but in the meantime you can try a Saline spray as it's better to use those than steroid ones if you can help it. Also check that your filters are in the back of the machine (re the sneezing).

PS Sterimar is a popular spray people try first as it contains only natural ingredients.
