Hi,

Does anyone have experience of the Philips Trueblue mask?  Any opinions?

Thanks in advance.

Sorry Richard, but I clearly remember replying to you a whle ago but my comment's not here.  If it's not too late to say, I'd mentioned that it may not be worth trying the Philip's TrueBlue as the mask is now discontinued as iif you did manage to get hold of one and like it, you'd have difficulty getting anymore in the future.

We used to sell it at the Hope2Sleep Charity, and whilst it was a quality mask it never took off as a really popular one as a number of other good masks seemed to overshadow it.

Hi Kath, thanks for the info.  I thought I’d seen it on the Philips website but maybe it was elsewhere.

Hi Richard.  You may have seen it on their main website but they discontinued it a year or more ago, along with a few others.  Are you struggling with your existing mask?

Hi Kath,

Yes, I’m looking for a mask that’s more comfortable for the bridge of my nose and doesn’t leak.  I miss the liquicell cushions and was looking to try a mask that used gel.
i tried nasal pillows but I kept waking in the middle of the night struggling to breathe because of my blocked nose.

You're not on your own there Richard - lots of people are upset the Liquicell has lost it's CE mark and can no longer be sold in the UK.  I am still in touch with the manufacturer, begging for them to resolve it, and am waiting for one last reply but I'm not hopeful I'm afraid.

I would be looking for a mask that avoids the bridge of your nose.  I personally never use a traditional style for that reason as I too am susceptible to nasal bridge sores.

One of the best masks for nasal breathers, based on our genuine reviews, is the DreamWear Nasal mask https://www.hope2sleep.co.uk/dreamwear-nasal-cpap-mask/action/reviews/  I just took a look at them and still most reviews are 5 stars, and every review on our charity's website is genuine and only from customers.  That being said, even the DreamWear will not suit everyone.  If you're able to travel to our charity in Hull, East Yorkshire then we do free mask fittings on our bed with people hooked up to their CPAP machine.

Hi Kath,

The Trueblue is still on the Philips website here https://www.philips.co.uk/healthcare/solutions/sleep-and-respirator...

which is why I thought it was still available.  Anyway, I’ve gone ahead and ordered the Dreamwear you suggested.

cheers!

Richard

Ah yes I clicked on your link Richard and seems that's an old link you found.  This is the latest link to their current sleep apnoea products https://www.philips.co.uk/healthcare/solutions/sleep-and-respirator...  Hope you find the DreamWear Nasal as successful as many others, and when you get the mask, go back to the website and scroll down where you'll find helpful videos.  Good luck!
