Hi all
Since I have been diagnosed with sleep apnoea my wife sleeps downstairs and has started to be offish with me. Has anyone else had the same problem

I did send you a private message Aaron, but not sure if you've seen it yet. I'm sorry to hear you're having these problems. Maybe your wife is also having a tough time coming to terms with things too, and I hope you can soon resolve this. I'm sure she'll be relieved you're now on good therapy for your untreated serious condition, and when she sees the benefits in your life she will be happier.
She may come round, but some people find the machine annoying (if you have one) or if you have not yet got one they can see it as the easy way to get away from grunts and snores. I hope it works out for you in the end, this does happen a lot but I have had no problems with this. Usually they move out the bedroom before it is found out you have Sleep Apnoea, not the other way round.
Putting a label on the problem makes it very real – it is quite a shock.
As is the fact that there is no magic fix, the good news is the machine makes the problem manageable without any long term drugs etc.
You may have to prepare yourself for the introduction of the machine “the Darth Vader” my OH calls it. She is however happy that the danger of me going in my sleep is the same as everyone else and the snoring is gone. Sadly it’s been replaced by the massive draft that blows straight out from the mask. If I turn to face her, she gets awoken by the gale, I get awoken by a thump :)
My wife moved into her own room because of my snoring before I got my pump!

This I find funny, not that getting a thump is but I have the bruises so I can laugh at this!

Has she moved back? Try to encourage her. My wife finds it to quiet when I am away now and has to sleep with the TV one. Well, at least that is her excuse for sleeping with the TV on!
As she is a smoker it is probably best that we sleep apart!
