Very sad to read this when the parents were so close to having surgery for their little boy to have his tonsils removed, to hopefully cure his sleep apnoea, (the surgery got cancelled). They'll never know what the outcome would have been now, but I truly admire them for turning this tragedy into helping others.
**Please parents, be aware that most children won't die during the night from sleep apnoea (gradual long-term damage is usually the outcome), but take this as a warning how very important it is to act on children's snoring and breathing issues. It's NOT normal for them to stop breathing regularly or continually snore during sleep and is a sign that something is wrong. We still struggle with lack of education from many GP's about this serious common issue so keep fighting for your children if you suspect they need help.
