Split mask seal
Having had my mask for 6 Months and cleaning carefully everyday to remove grease I put it on Tuesday night and woke up in the morning to find that the seal had split for about a 1 cm on the bridge of the nose. It was fine the night before when I cleaned it and its not a tight fit just enough to seal properly
I have been careful to use only gentle wipes like Johnsons baby wipes fragrant free.
Anyway my clinic changed it for me but said they were expected to last 12months. Is this the norm?
Its a Respironics Comfort Fit Full face.

David, I've seen some people in the US change theirs fairly regulary, I have a Resmed Mirage Quattro and have had it just over a year and it is still going strong. In Australia, most of our equipment is not covered by insurance so I want to get the most out of it. I am lucky my supplier is only around the corner and has all spare parts in stock. Also everyone has different opinions on how often to wash equipment(probably as many opinions as there are masks and machines) but I wash mine twice a week, on a Wed and Sun and use mask liners so I don't need to clen it anymore. If I dribble, I give it the extra wash of course. You will have to see how long the next one lasts.
