Hi Norman and please don't be nervous on the forum - we have people on here of all ages and we all want to help. It's good that you've been diagnosed with sleep apnoea, and it could well be linked to the other illnesses you have, so hopefully you may see an improvement of them. The mask is the hardest part of our therapy - getting the right one for you!
Try to adjust the mask whilst the CPAP air is blowing at the maximum pressure that's been set on your machine.
There are 2 different Quattro masks. Here's a link to correctly fittting the original onehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oeFoOCUuKIE or if you have the Quattro FX, this is the fitting video for this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYC3w-zt1eM
Sometimes people are lucky and find the correct mask for them straight away, but more often it's a case of trying out several. In fact it took me about 5 years to find the one that suits me!
Hope this helps, but your clinic should be willing to give you some others to try if not.
Best Wishes.
Kath
Thank you Kath. I am new to this and being a very elderly gent please excuse any errors made on my part.
I have had a lot of illnesses and now sleep apnea i am having trouble with my resmed Quattro face mask as i move a lot in my sleep and this lets air escape through the mask and the noise wakes me up. i will carry on and hope someday will discover a better mask. I am a bit reluctant to visit the Forum as I am a bit nervous of all you young people, but I will make an effort one of these days.
Best wishes
Norman
