Hi
I have been using my cpap for about 20 months now. On the whole have got on with it reasonably well.
About 6 months ago started to develop a clicking in my jaw (only on the right side) and sometimes could not open my mouth properly, It is quite painful and can last from a few minutes to all day. I did not associate my mask with this problem until recently. I had pain all day, and could not face using my mask that night. I didnt have pain the next morning or the rest of the day. The following night I wore my mask and I have pain again, It makes it difficult to eat too. Is it the type of mask I am using causing me this problem? ( I have a Res Med airfit full face mask, yes I am a mouth breather too,my nose blocks at night, had a deviated septum operation that worked great for a few weeks, but now gets blocked again)
So any advice would be great , Thanks

Sorry to hear this Judy, and it could well be the fact that you're having to tighten the mask a little too much that's causing the jaw problems. It could also simply be that the mask isn't suitable for you, so worth asking your clinic if they can look into this with you. The Dr Dakota cushion can also be very helpful for keeping the jaw supported which may help https://www.hope2sleep.co.uk/neck-cushion-for-chin-support-by-dr-da...
