Sleep Apnoea Forum Bringing Help + Support to the Patient

Anyone know the answer to these questions ....google has mixed answers ?

Hi All

Does anyone know the cut off in the UK for time spent below 89% Sat for a toddler before treatment is issued and is oxygen therapy the usual first line treatment?

What is the definition of Bradycardia while asleep in a toddler ? Can it be the reason for apnea or part of the symptoms produced ?

Thanks in advance

Carol

Wow, will look forward to that Rock.  Got to warn you though, we don't get sun like you're used to in Colorado :(

lol Kath I was going to say you may need a new winter wardrobe to wear here all year round :0

You 2 make it sound so appealing! My wife and I want the experience. People ask me all the time about the differences between the 2 types of medicine. I always have to tell them that I really can't comment on any other country's medical practices. I would like to see what the differences are first hand. My wife feels the same way. I have a 1 year verbal commitment currently, and my wife has about that long in additional training. We will evaluate our situation and see what happens next for us after that. Who knows,4 years ago I thought I would never leave Indianapolis. Since then I worked in 3 different cities before making Denver my home.
I think both you and your wife's commitments are great Rock.  We would welcome you here with open arms too :)  The weather is a big thing for us though as we don't get enough of the good stuff and for those of us who crave it hop over to Europe.  I'm sure there'd be openings for work for you both when the time comes, and I'd certainly help you :)

"You don't mention whether you have a humidifier on your CPAP machine.  I think that would help a lot."

Jonathan replied to John's discussion Wellu O2 Ring - is it accurate enough for the medics?
"Hi The SleepCube was a private purchase, as way back then my local sleep clinic assessed patients by filming them overnight, whilst wearing an oximeter, and only issued CPAP machines without humidifiers.  There was no remote monitoring and…"

"Yeah I was wondering about email address. I thought probably if they wanted me to mail them they would have given out an address. I can imagine heart data is considered more acute than sleep data, so it would make more sense to have that…"

"On an unrelated topic, I've been able to send ECGs by PDF to my heart clinic. On the subject of Resmed and apnoeas, take a look at https://youtu.be/ufOOAfyzZso?si=Tpdl4EEiCQBZR4iD&t=276 Your machine may be under-reporting. Good…"

Wellu O2 Ring - is it accurate enough for the medics?
