condensation in mask
Hi I've had my Resmed S9 auto with humidifier for 12 days. I bought and use a hose lift and there's no sign of condensation in the tubing BUT the FlexiFit™ by Fisher Paykel nasal mask that the hospital supplied is so wet after 3 or so hours of sleep that I'm waking and having to dry it out with a tissue. I have to sleep in a cool room as I over heat very easily at night. I've tried varying the setting on the humidifier and not using it at all but nothing seems to be making a difference. Any suggestions what I can do to stop this happening? Thanks

Carolyn, I also use the Resmend Auto with humidifier and do ever get condensation, did you get a heated tube with it, it is black vs a clear tube. Also make sure you dont over fill the water chamber. With the temperature there is no easy answer, I use mine like a air conditioner / heater, have it higher in winter and lower in summer. Hopefully Kath or one of the other may have some more suggestions.

Carolyn, if you are using a humidifier and weren't supplied with the heated tubing that Terry mentioned, then it should be easy to fix this problem with the Hose Covers http://www.hope2sleep.co.uk/products/28 and you need to get your hose elevated too. The Hose Lifts are fantastic for this http://www.hope2sleep.co.uk/products/9 (you can read reviews for both of these on the website) and if you do on search on here you should find posts where they've been mentioned.
I actually prefer not to have a heated hose, as I get too hot, although a lot of people do like them.

The hose lift is great coupled with a cover. You can get them in all sorts of colours if you want. If you get the hose lift buy the metal mounting bracket as well if you have somewhere to fix it , ie the bedhead. It provides a lot more secure base than the under mattress frame that comes with it which wobbles a bit.

hi all,i get really bad condensation and i have the same machine,i have a hose cover and an elevated pipe but its drowning me in water at least twice a night,i have central heating on 24/7 so dont think its really cold in bedroom,all suggestions very welcome,merry crissy.muz

A few things to check Martin.... firstly and most importantly, your mask vent isn't blocked is it and is the oxygen port in place? If everything's fine with the mask, has the problem just arisen since the temperature has dropped? Have you tried adjusting the settings on the humidifier, especially with the change in temperature? Another thing to bear in mind is that your humidifier could be faulty - this happened with another customer of ours - he worked through everything, and once he got a new humidifier everything was ok.
