When first starting to use a cpap machine how long does it take to start feeling the benefits of using one please.

Kath, I hope you don't think I'm stalking you from half a world away.
Good article to help raise awareness of undiagnosed sleep apnoea. However, anyone reading this, do bear in mind that slim people also have sleep apnoea, and children are also at risk.

Thanks for letting me know my reply was published. I sent it at 10am but it didn't appear after 2 attempts so I gave up. Glad it appeared as people are under the wrong impression you have to be overweight to have OSA.

They sent it to me and it attaches to my cpap so it is one unit Kath.

I did phone papworth technical dept yesterday as instructed and they were very helpfull but i forgot to ask about the round dial and also forgot to call them today lol .

The dial will be to increase or decrease humidification. It's a case of trial and error and will need adjusting as temperatures/humidity in your bedroom changes. See how you feel from last night, adjust it accordingly. Hope you find it helps.

I have recived a letter from papworth explaining when i was monitored that i had a mean saturation of 94.7% and a desaturation index of 4.54 i do not know what these terms mean can anyone tell me if this is the norm
I have also been told of a legal obligation to inform the DVLA of my diagnosis and treatment i was never told this when i was discharged from papworth did anyone else have to do this and does it mean i will not be allowed to drive please.
