Good Numbers but serve tireness
Over the last month I have been having good numbers below three but I am very tired. I have noticed that on sleepihead that it I am having areas on the graph there is a totally flat line. On average I am still having 16 hypopnoea and also my RERA have increased up to 30 a night. Why arent I getting a good nights sleep as i havent changed anything in the bedroom. I know that my pain levels havent been great over the last few weeks but normally this doesnt effect my sleep.

I am glad that i rang the unit as they hadn't booked my transport for next weeks appointment, and the appointment is with a consultant so hopefully I will find out what is going on. I will let you know how it goes when I get back. I'm on third week of the increase think I feeling a bit better.

My appointment went well. the doctor I saw said that on average I have around 5 CSA an hour and he feels that it could be caused by certain medications that I take like gabapentin, tramadol and mirtazapentin are the most likely the ones causing it. The sleep study showed that I had about 48 episodes an hour. So still on APAP with no changes to the setting. Hospital transport can be a nightmare as I was picked up too early so I was there by 9:30am for 11:10 appointment and then the transport was booked for 12:10pm but it didn't turn up until just after 1:30pm .

Good to hear the appointment went well Dee and hope you continue to start feeling better now the meds are kicking in. Yes, several drugs are responsible for causing central events, but they're obviously necessary for other medical conditions. This is why some people do better on Adaptive Servo Ventilation rather than CPAP, but they're very expensive so not often supplied.

Yes, the gabapentin stops the spasms I get and nerve pain. The citialopram and mirtazapine is for my chronic depression, tramadol is for pain. I see them again in 6 months time and if it hasnt changed then I will ask about having a trial of ASV to see that helps.
I don't think that the medication is the cause of the CSA but I will try and see if it makes a difference.
Also I am hoping that I will be 13-kg lighter which will bring me down to around 71-kg. (11-st 2.2-lb). At the beginning of the year is was 88kgs (13-st 11.6-lbs) that will be over 2 stone lighter which will be good.but will still have another 22-kg tp lose. In total once I get to my goal weight I would have lost 39-kg or 6-st 2lbs around 45% of my body weight. I am hoping to get to my goal weight in around a year's time.

I have uploaded my sleepy head readings from last night.
I have also noticed that I have the full version of Encore where I could change my pressures but I wont as that would be wrong. I got this version from American Apnea Site. Please bear in mind I'm not a medic, but I've had a look at your readings and there are certainly a lot of central apnoeas there. Respironics calls these Clear Airways (CA). Sometimes centrals can be CPAP-induced, often caused by pressures raising, and I can't see the pressures on the chart. I do know of several people who have got better therapy with mixed/complex sleep apnoe via ASV, but unfortunately not all hospitals are willing/able to supply these. I will keep you up-to-date with my charts on a regular basis to see if you can see what is going on. Last night the figures were a bit better:
CA: 13 HY: 14 OB: 10 PP: 33 RERA: 15 =3.48
On the charts it looks like i had many CSA again but I thought that I a good night.

Since last week I have finally noticed that I am feeling a bit more positive about things so it looks like the 45mg of Mirtazapine has started to work. So Manda was right that it would kick in around the four week mark. I start reducing my Gabapentin today by 300mgs over the next three weeks I will get rid of one whole dose with the tramadol. I will then speak to my chemist to drop back to 4 doses a day instead of 6 as I could add the Mirtazapine to the bedtime one. I am hoping that I can get down to a lower dose if possible before the pain and spasms kick in.

I started reducing the Gapabentin and I have already noticed that my pain levels have started to increase where I get 90% of my spasms. It's been the first day I have noticed that my upper back is getting painful but I am still going to try and reduce until I cant cope anymore with the pain. I was hoping to nearly half the dose of it so that I wasnt so much medication. I will keep a record of how I am feeling and if my pain levels have increased. For the first time in ages my pain levels were higher than my fatigue levels.
