boil water (about a pint) put one teaspoon of salt let desolve and cool, put into a shallow dish like a ceraril bowl 

try heat with nose if ok block one nostril and suck solution with the other from nose and out into mouth, repeat for other nostril do this intil clear. spit water out of mouth

Tim, if you can come up with a patent of your own you could be a millionaire lol, if I get so itchy, I just turn my CPAP off, take my mask off, give it a good scratch and put it all back on. I know it's a hassle but have found a another alternative that works. I think you get a bit more used to it as time goes by. Depending on the type of mask you have, I alway use a maskliner which may help slightly. Sorry I don't have the silver bullet you are looking for!!!

Hi Terry... I use the mask liners too - I find them very useful in that the leak you inevitably get is quiet as opposed to squeaky and even more annoying!

I suppose I'm not desperate for a solution, just thought I'd pose this and see what pool of information gathered =o)

I'm an engineer (or was before giving up on the madness of London and stopping work), so maybe with enough people's ideas, the best elements can be pooled and a solution created and left for other people to try... not so sure about the millionaire bit ;o)

Yes, it's amazing this subject hasn't come up before Tim.  We ought to all pool our ideas together and get a patent like Terry said - we'd be very rich :D

When I used to use the 'traditional' masks I feared the dreaded itch and always had a straw on my bedside table, as it was a nightmare to get it re-sealed, although thankfully with the FitLife I don't have that problem, as I can itch away with my finger without even switching the machine off!  However, I have another weird problem, which I'm about to tell the whole world lol, so here goes...... if I get an itch on one side of my body, I always have to itch the other side as well to make it even.  How weird am I? :-D  We're all having a right laugh here about this, as both my kids have said they're exactly the same as me, but hubby thinks we're all barmy LOL. 

I do find that the mask liners make it worse - so you cure one thing and cause another :(  (I don't use mask liners with the FitLife obviously).  The Breathe Right Strips I use also make it worse too though!

I do sometimes practise 'mind over matter' and sometimes succeed in ignoring the itch, but not always!

I suggest for now, when we're addressing our dreaded itches, is to remember that all over the world other people are having the same problem :D  However, we await and long for your invention, and I'll be the seller ;)
