Not sure if this came out on my original post, as no record of it.
I am 45 years old and have scoliosis with respiratory failure. I have had 3 operations for scoliosis, I was told when I was very young that I had a deformed lung. I have since had 3 operations on my back, I have been going to Papworth Hospital since the age of 30 as I was turning blue. I was told I would need a nippy ventilator as my oxygen level had dropped. I have now been using it for 15 years and was told earlier this year that probably due to my operations, they took my harrington rod out 13 years ago that my back has got worse so I have now been given oxygen to use 15 hours a day, I am finding it difficult but am slowly getting used to it, I now have a nippy 3+. I go to Papworth Hospital and live in Suffolk. I only stopped working about 8 years ago due to health problems and discrimination. I look forward to hearing from anyone.
