Resmed Airsense 10 Humidifier
The NHS sleep clinic has provided me with a Resmed Airsense 10 Cpap machine with no humidifier tank. I'm having problems with a very dry mouth and throat. Should I ask the clinic to provide a tank?

Yes, definitely ask for a humidifier Jim. In the meantime the XyliMelts work really well for most of us with a dry mouth and some of us use both https://www.hope2sleep.co.uk/xylimelts-dry-mouth-discs.html

An update on this. I got a humidifier tank from the clinic, and I bought a heated hose to suit the ResMed Airsense 10. On the default humidity setting of 4 I still get a dry mouth and throat. If I set it above 4 I don't get the dryness, but I get water gurgling in the hose and splashing on my face. I've got the hose temperature set to the default 27 degrees, and the machine is well below the level of my head. Can anyone suggest a solution to this please?

You're very welcome Jim and I can honestly say I'd struggle without the hose lift and have one permanently in my suitcase as it comes everywhere with me. It has other uses too (less mask leaks from the hose dragging).

A hose lift - I will have to look into that because I get the gurgling too.
Another thing I get is whistling mask which drives me mad. On high humidity condensation builds up on the small vent holes on the front of the mask.
One trick I used is to smear a bit of oil on the inside, to repel water. Seemed to work a bit but not reliably.
I was wondering if a mask with fewer but bigger holes would give the same engineered rate of flow but be too big to whistle.
