Hi,

Looking at information on my S9 auto, i noticed that the EPR function is disabled.  Would you guys recommend turning this on or not.  Would appreciate your experiences with this

Is the EPR actually not on Linda, or do you mean your clinician's have locked you out of changing it yourself?  It seems a bit daft not to have this feature activated to help you on exhale.

It is just not on!  so i have now switched in on, thanks Kath

Let us know how you got on with the setting on Linda.

Linda, I use the Resmed S9 and it is probably the most important feature on the machine. My settings are 0-3 and can only exhale properly on 3.

That's exactly what I thought Terry when Linda said it wasn't set.  What's the point of having a machine with that facility and not using it?  Hmm.... sounds like Linda's clinic need to know about this too.

Kath, on mine I can change all settings but our system is different were I buoght and own the machine so maybe that's why the clinic wants to manage it. I am supposed to take mine to a clinic to change setting but I do them myself. My Specialist even gave me the setting to get the clinic to up the pressure a bit and I told him I'd do it and he said OK. Each country works differently. With the EPR, I couldn't exhale and basically breathe unless it was set correctly, it is as important as the humidifier.

It depends on what clinic people are with as to whether they are encouraged or discouraged to alter settings.

Thanks Terry, i now have it on. Will see how it goes, going to my first sleep apnoea association AGM next weekend, so hoping to get some good tips and advice there too.

Linda, make sure you posts the good tips on here because we can always learn. The setting EPR settings are a bit of trial and error again. I found I had to set mine at 3.

Hi Linda,

I am going home to check my settings.  If the EPR isn't on, on my machine, will turn it on and see if that helps me any more.

Isla

Hi again Linda,

I checked my settings on my machine and the EPR was enabled and was sitting at 3.  I hope you got yours sorted.  I checked to see what the settings were and it was 0 -3 so I just left it as it was.

Isla xx
