"Thank you Karen. Your suggestions are good and I will certainly give them a go. To be honest, I feel so good about life after years of fatigue that this just a minor problem. I'm sure I will crack it! I'm definitely going to try a silk…"
"Hi Maxine - I also suffered similar problems, and early on started to use a hair net. Not the sexiest of looks but it helps! You can buy sleep hair nets from High St chemists.. I also have a silk hair cap and a light jersey cap which I got off…"
"Thank you for the reply, Kath. I had thought about making myself a cotton cap but have been putting it off thinking that I just don't need something else on my head during the night! I will give it a go and let you know. "
"Hi everyone! I'm new to this forum and new to Sleep Apnoea. I was diagnosed a few weeks ago having 50+ events per night. I'm doing well with my Resmed machine and mask, however I wonder if anyone else suffers from an itchy scalp where the…"
Hi Maxine - I also suffered similar problems, and early on started to use a hair net. Not the sexiest of looks but it helps! You can buy sleep hair nets from High St chemists.. I also have a silk hair cap and a light jersey cap which I got off the Internet. I also swear by a pure silk pillowcase which is not only cool on the head, but also helps with moving around in the night as there is less friction. Hope this helps a little and good luck - am sure you will start to feel the benefits of using the CPAP very soon once the little irritations are sorted.

"A belated welcome Andrew and you're definitely not alone. It won't be long before some of your friends and family get diagnosed due to how common sleep apnoea is, and it's you who'll be helping them :) As Jonathan has…"

"Hi Andrew, I got my CPAP, Christmas Eve 2012 and the first time I wore my mask, my claustrophobia kicked in big time, so you have my sympathy. I ended up on sleeping tablets and I’m still on them now . It’s been the only way I’ve…"
Thanks for allowing me to join it is very much appreciated. I was diagnosed with sleep apnoea about 8 months ago and I received my ResMed machine about 6 weeks ago, so everything is still a bit new. I am also claustrophobic which has made…"
"Some manufacturers recommend replacing a mask every 6 months, but then they would wouldn't they?
More money in it for them.
I have had a mask for several years and as long as it is kept clean or does not go off colour it is fine.
If you feel…"
"It may have affected him this way, but it may have no effect on others.
Did he get medical advice before he posted this statement?
If you are taking this drug and it is affecting you, go back to your doctor and get something else or get the doctors…"
"EDAM SAID: "I have had problems with my Resmed S9 APAP staying at 20 cm for 2-3 hours at a time which wrecks me the next day."
This is not the first time I have seen someone reporting a ResMed S9/S10 going to 20 and staying there!
"Thank you Kath, only just home and will do all the things you suggested well before bedtime. What you mentioned is so simple and easy, I have plenty of supplies so can replace if checks don't reveal anything and see if there is a difference.…"
