New Longer Hose
As I have already posted, my ahi's have gone right up to 25. I have been trying to come up with a solution before I get to go and see nurse. Ahi's seem to have gone up at exactly the same time as Put a new much longer hose on it. Could this have anything to do with it?

ABSOLUTELY! Did the hospital give you the longer hose, and if so did they adjust the pressure? It would need raising with a longer hose, and possibly a wider or narrower one, although I need to check into the latter. However, it definitely needs raising for longer hoses.

Thanks Kath. I think we may have solved my problem. The nurse just phoned me when the hose came in and I picked it up and took it home without her even looking at it. I didn't even have to take the machine with me. I'll try shorter hose tonight. I'll let you know what happens. Best wishes. Carolyn.

The new hose is double the length of the one the machine came with!!!!!

Crikey, how long is it Carolyn - surely not 12 ft? Why do you need such a huge hose?

Yes Kath. I think it is 12ft hahahahahaha. I thought it would be better with the hose lift. WRONG!!!!! I think Nursey is in for a little talking to!!

You will need to check your facts first Carolyn before you challenge the nurse, as some of the automatic machines are set to compensate for the longer tubes - not sure about yours obviously. However, it's doubtful if any would compensate for a 12 ft hose. To be safe, I would put back your 6 ft hose onto your machine. Most people find that 6 ft is still adequate with the hose lift (me included).

Hose lengths - as I've been woken by the ultimate alarm clock (my bedside cabinet is actually a chest of drawers about 5 ft high), having rolled over twice, wrapped the six foot hose around my head and pulled the flow generator (and humidifier) off the cabinet and onto the bed, hitting me on the head and leaving me with a very wet bed.
That's when I bought the 3m hose from germany. I use the 6 ft when travelling as I travel alone and the CPAP goes on the bed with me.
