Sleep Apnoea Forum Bringing Help + Support to the Patient

For the past 3 friday's, including tomorrow, I have phoned my sleep clinic to get help, and advice, on my bi-pap treatment.I have been told I would get a returned call on monday, to arrange an appointment to go and see them. My next appointment, due, is not until june. However I have not recieved any calls at all. My ahi's are going up to 25 again and then down as far as 19 and back up again. I am waking every hour or so and I feel terrible. I saw my gp today, for other things, and I told her what is happening. She said to keep phoning until I get a result. I have got used to the treatmetment and it really doesn't bother me, so I don't think it's that waking me. I will phone again tomorrow, 3rd friday in a row. I hate being a nuiscance to people but I need this sorted. I feel worse than when I started, but I have not missed 1 night. I'll see what happens tomorrow.

Carolyn, any luck today? If not, why don't you contact your sleep Dr even by phone if you can't get to see him/her. I'm sure they would want to know the problems you are having and should be able to escalate it for you.

Hello Terry. Luckily, for her, an appointment came in the post this morning. It is for 10th February. Three weeks away, but better than June. I'll keep you updated.

Carolyn, that's good but I still think 3 weeks it an extremely long time since you are not comfortable with what you are currently using. Are you still using your CPAP even though the reading are high because hopefully at least it is having some effect.

Hello Terry. Yes I am still using my bi-pap, I have used it nearly every night. I had a couple of nights off it when I had a bad tooth absess, last september, but since then I have used it every night. I think my pressure settings are 18+. It is a philips resiponics, system one bi-pap auto machine' and so I must be getting some benefit. The 3 week wait will give me time to sort my evidence out and how to put it to her.
