Sleep Apnoea Forum Bringing Help + Support to the Patient

I use a F&P icon +

I am 18 mths diagnosed and on my second machine as the first malfunctioned

I find the water in my machine gets to hot even tho i set my humidity to 2

also I find even tho I turn it off unless i actually unplug it the water can still be bath water hot hours later its still heating it when air flow is turned off.

I have been putting chilled or ice water in my machine so i can deal with it,

Is the machines supposed to be like this and

would using it without water stop my heating issues?

It is summer here and I am not liking  the blow dryer in the face lol

Oh that doesn't sound good Elaine and I would check if this machine isn't malfunctioning too as it shouldn't be as hot as that.  You can change the heat setting from the clinicial menu if you speak with your hospital or provider.  I just noticed you've requested to join the FB group I run and if you check your 'other' inbox on FB I think you'll find a message from one of the admins who is waiting to approve you.  I would also mention this problem in there as we have more Icon users in the FB group.

Sounds a bit odd, I know they can feel hot even on a low setting, but by what you have said there may be a problem with the machine or humidifier.

I can never get them hot enough or hold enough water, but that is another story.

I don't know this machine, but unless you can turn off the power to the humidifier I would not run it dry.

If you can turn it off, that would be ok.  But do get the machine checked for safety sake.

I have an Icon and can confirm that yes it does feel warm. Mine humidifier is set to 5. Bear in mind that it will compensate for air flow and pressure. If you just want a little humidity set it to 1 or even off and the water will stay cooler.

I love the Icon, it has a great humidifier, I could never get enough comfort from my precious machine even with its humidifier at max.

Pressure waking me up. Belching and wind

HiI'm using the prisma smart max machine. Initially I was just on a nasal mask, this changed as I was sleeping with my mouth open. I then went to face and nose mask and complained of bad wind and belching. Sometimes the pressure in the night was…See More
