Anybody any experience of using the Breas Z1 or Transcend portable machines

I am looking to get a small portable CPAP unit to take on a extended holiday and this seems to fit the bill. I dont want to lug my Respironics System one with me it weighs a ton with the humidifier.(2.42Kg)

So if any body has used the Z1or the transcend I would appreciate your comments

I've looked at both of them, and remember being swayed to the Z1, but I can't have either now as I've been changed to an NIV machine.  It's worth looking on cpap.com for reviews David.

Thanks Kath I've found someone who has both in stock and going to look at them on Wed.

Intus have been slagging off the Z1. I was in  medical sales for to many years to remember and when someone slags off the opposition I think it's not on to resort to such methods

That's good to hear David.  I agree with you, that it's not good practise to 'slag off' other machines and masks, as apart from anything, 'what suits one person, doesn't always suit another' and different algorithms on different machines actually can suit people better, which doesn't mean another machine is worse than another!  Good luck with that and let us know what you decide on.

I  have been to see Chris  at Remserve Medical- https://www.remservemedical.com/products  . Great guy and very helpful. He had the Z1 and the Transcend out so I could play with both. I had took my mask so could compare in a real life scenario. I decided on the Z1 because its marginally smaller and lighter but also seems easier to use and has better software support via a app for your phone as well as PC.

Noise levels very similar at a setting of 10. Although there is a "Qtube Muffler ( damn Americans!!) out for the Z1 which goes in line with the tube and cuts down air noise.

As well as Kath, Chris is also a pleasure to deal with and very helpfull.

Glad you got sorted David, and it was great that Remserve had both devices for you to compare side by side.  As I said in the previous comment, I'd have leaned towards the Z1 myself if I was looking for a portable machine.  I've met Chris several times, and he's a lovely guy with such passion and honesty to help us all.  You'll have to let us know what you think about the Z1 after you've used it for a while.
