In the past I have had no problem using a different make of mask to that of the APAP until my APAP was swapped.
For years I have been using the F & P Simplus with my Resmed S9 APAP with no problems but since my
S9 was swapped for a newer S9 I have had problems.
The APAP has been running at a much higher pressure, 19.6 average, than normal OUCH!!!.
Doing some testing sitting in a chair this morning I have found that using the Simplus for 15mins the pressure has increased to 12 and still rising but using a Resmed Quattro Air the pressure stabilises at about 8 for the same period.
All I can think is that the lower exhaust rate of the Simplus is upsetting the S9.
I would like to continue to use the Simplus but until I can find a answer then I will have to use a Resmed.

Has the new machine been set up properly to take a full face mask Edam? Another theory is you might need a new Simplus cushion, as leaks could cause the pressure to raise.
The APAP is showing no leaks using the Simplus.
BUT
As the Simplus has a lower exhaust rate than a Resmed mask the leak rate information will not be accurate.
I will see which Resmed masks have a similar exhaust rate to the Simplus and set the APAP for that type of mask..
That should give more accurate leak rate information
