c pap mask
hi everyone I am considering buying a more comfortable nasal mask, I am looking at the JOYCE SILK GEL NASAL MASK. I have looked for reviews but cannot find any , has anyone on this forum used this mask and is it worth a hundred pounds.my current hospital mask o k but a bit uncomfortable to wear all night long, my mask is the silicoe balloon type if thats the right way to describe it. im feeling that if the c pap is for life i may aswell make it as comfortable as possible. or if any one knows of a gel nasal mask they could recommend please let me know. thanks Bob.

I agree with giving it your best shot at getting the 'right' mask for you Bob, but even with all the best reviews in the world it's not possible to guarantee if it will be the 'right' mask for you. It's why when people ask me which mask I rate the best I can't give an answer. Have you asked your hospital if they have an alternative mask for you to try?
Talking about masks, we had a lady travel a 400 mile round trip today to our charity in Hull from London to to try masks on before purchase, and I shared it earlier on our Facebook Page.
Interestingly, the mask I thought would suit her better was her 2nd choice when she'd laid on the bed hooked up to her machine with them on.

Yes, masks for one person do not mean they are for everyone, getting a supplier to give ou a refund if it is not suitable is good, but trying it on and lying down with your machine on for an hour or so is the only real way of trying a mask. Even that does not mean you will not have problems with it after you take it home. I had a cupboard full of masks when I started until I found a mask I could at least use every night, it was not perfect, but it was the best I could get and no longer available in this country.
So I recommend you get a supplier that will refund you withing 30 days or go where you can try the mask on, even if it does mean a long journey. The other thing is that if they have a selection of masks you might find the ideal mask for you, maybe one you never thought about.
