struggling with CPAP
hello, I've only been using the machine and a full face mask about 3 weeks.
ON THE GOOD SIDE - i dont need a nap in the afternoon now
ON THE OTHER SIDE - i seem to spend a long time every night trying to get the mask to seal, it constantly blows air across my eyes/whistles/makes farty sounds. i end up sleeping in the position the 'mask likes' and daren't move, can't even open my mouth to mouth breathe or swallow or the 'seal' on my face breaks.
it must be working a bit as i can get through a day without sleeping, but i struggle to sleep because of it and end up taking it off about 3am as am fed up with it.

I've just realised I've replied to some of your comments on the other 'welcome' thread. It's definitely worth trying the liners that Amelia mentioned http://www.hope2sleep.co.uk/silent-night-mask-liners.html I use them myself. I honestly remember the early days when I struggled like you. Some people are lucky to get the 'right' mask the 1st time, but for many of us we need to try several. Check that it's the right size too.

You might need to try a good few masks before you fine one that works for and with you.
Once you find one they will stop making it next week if your luck is like mine!
Contact your clinic and check it is not to big or get another mask.
Also make sure you are not putting the mask on to tight, I know this sounds mad, but the air pushes the seal out against your face to make a seal and if it is to tight it can't do that.
