Yep, it happens from time to time, and often a lot of people find it a bigger problem in the early days. Take a look at the video we have on here http://hope2sleepguide.co.uk/video/get-rid-of-burping-and-gaswind Hope it's 'passed'
Amanda, the air bit happens for a while till you get used it it. You are sucking in more air than before because your CPAP is pushing it down your throat when you breathe in as well as up your nose if you are using a full face mask. Dont worry you will get used to it and Im sure you will find a potentail partner one day. By then, when ever it is, you will have more energy, feel better in yourself and that potential partner will appreciate that you can go out and do things with him rather than being tired.
Can I just suggest one thing for the future because I talk to a number of ladies on another webite that ask about CPAP and relationships with males / females, if you do get into a relationship, be honest and upfront about what you have to wear at night, some people maybe turned off by it but it osmeone really loves you they will be understanding and want you to wear it, just a thought, keep going and well done.
Thanks for that great link to the video Kath, watched how I was settling last night and it was better.
Yes Terry, I plan to be very up front about what I have to do to prepare for sleep. It's not going to be yet though lol, not in a hurry to rush into something else.
I've been bothered with this for three years! I've now watched the video and will try out the new sleeping position tonight.
Oh, and I wish my sleep technician looked like this guy!
Let us know if the sleep position works Tricia. Also air leaks can cause this, so you can try out what Amanda did too in this discussion with making a liner http://hope2sleepguide.co.uk/forum/topics/masks-and-air-leaks. Have you also had your pressures checked lately, as too high a pressure can cause this?
Sorry, but you can't have that sleep tech in the video unless you catch a plane for a longhaul flight
My sleep nurse said that this problem would go after a short time, but it's three years now. My mask, Mirage Quatro XS, fits fine with no leaks. My pressure gets checked annually.
I tried to sleep the way that was shown on the video and it was semi-successful. Not so much burping but still some.
I'm sure te sleep tech guy would fly over here to demonstrate personally

My pressure gets checked annually, so I doubt that's the problem.
