I just wanted to introduce myself to everyone. My name is Rock Hinkle Rpsgt. I am a sleep tech living in Denver Colorado, USA. I love to talk sleep, so if any of you have any questions let me know.

I thought it was more then 5 hours. I have only been in Denver for a couple of months. The 300 days of sun is nice. Even when it snows the suns out.

I am one of the many UK CPAP users who do not get very much help from their hospitals. They supplied me with a Remstar M Series CPAP but not the auto version, so it has no ability to check and report on AHIs etc even if I install a data card. I believe that similar, basic, machines are widely supplied in the UK.
I have recently purchased a CMS 50F pulse oximeter to try and check out my sleep patterns. I am currently monitoring the oximetry report (the key data has been condensed into a simple spreadsheet) to see the effect of gradually increasing the pressure from the preset 10cm. I did ask the hospital how they had decided that pressure, and was told "we always set them to 10cm" - not a very scientific response!
Increasing pressures clearly show a change for the better in my SpO2 levels - it seems clear that I need a pressure above 10cm.
Would it possible for you to post some guidelines for those of us using pulse oximeters as to the key fields to watch please?
If you wished, I would happily post here a number of factual questions about the data, for your use.
Would you be able to help please?
I appreciate that there are various different oximeters in use, but I imagine they all report the same types of data
I feel this would be of great assistance to UK forum members who are using these devices. Obviously it would be great if they helped US readers as well, although I get the distinct impression from other forums that US patients receive far more practical info and support from their doctors and sleep technicians than those of us in the UK!
If you can help, I suggest that you or I start a new discussion specifically on oximeter data.

What kind if information are you looking for John. In the lab the goal is too keep Spo2 above 90%. If you could upload a report and ask specific questions I might be able to help, Maybe that is the discussion we should start.
