Sleep Apnoea Forum Bringing Help + Support to the Patient

Just thought I would add a good news story re my results, I have been on CPAP for 6 months now and the first 3 months were trying but 5 masks later, I went to back to my local Sleep Centre today to get my results for the last 45 days. My AHI is down from 3.3 to 3.1, much better than 30 during my sleep study. My Centrals are 1.8 and Obstructive 0.7. My Leakages are down from 20.0 to 13.8 mainly due to my homemade hose lift. My average pressure is up slightly from 9.0 to 10.4 Just wanted to share this as I'm reasonably happy with my results and Kath has encouraged me through the early stages of me long journey, thanks Kath.

This is brilliant news Terry.  Am so pleased for you and you must be feeling so much better in yourself now compared to before your diagnosis.  It's also great that due to your perseverance you're now in a position to help other people new to CPAP.

Delighted for Terry and I am off to my sleep clinic in Bangor north Wales in about an hour i hope my results will be improving as well! My only concern is why was this posted at 5.16 am? Thanks from me to Kath as well for all the support, regards

Yes, looking forward to hearing your news too Robert.  By the way, Terry's in sunny Australia and was probably sat on his patio in the blaring daytime sun whilst we were trying to keep warm in bed :D

Robert, Kath's right, It was about 4.16 pm on Tuesday when I posted it and it was a sunny 26c but I wasn't on my patio sunning myself, I was at work. Also getting too much sun is not good for potential skin cancer. I would be interested in hearing your results which are hopefully an improvement.

CPAP Total Face Mask

I was curious whether anyone has used the CPAP Total Face Masks and could pass on their observations? I've been using an Airfit F20 for years which is fine apart from the permanent red mark on the bridge of my nose, and have recently tried the…See More

Pressure waking me up. Belching and wind

HiI'm using the prisma smart max machine. Initially I was just on a nasal mask, this changed as I was sleeping with my mouth open. I then went to face and nose mask and complained of bad wind and belching. Sometimes the pressure in the night was…See More

"Just to tidy this up, I finally had an in-person review by my sleep clinic yesterday, who agreed the ResMed AirSense 10 was "wheezy" and replaced the machine."

1st time and I’ve failed the mask leak test

Hi everyone, today I received my rental kit - prisma smart max, plus a Philips dreamwear mask which I’ve been wearing unconnected to try and get used to it. I just did a mask fit test using a medium mask and got a constant red/orange leak warning…See More

Jonathan replied to John's discussion Has anyone been told root cause of their OSA?
