Sleep Apnoea Forum Bringing Help + Support to the Patient

Hello,have just found out my 3 yr old son has SA :((

Hello all. 
My son is 3 and has always been a poor sleeper from birth. He has had numeouros health problems,from bronclitis to asthma
We recently got referred to ent bcus he had glue ear. 
I mentioned his sleepin how poor it was,and that he sleep talks. Alway tired,and behaoiur is hard work in the daytime. 
So arranged a sleep study. 
Results was sleep apnea. 
Least seconds stop breathing was 15 most being 90!! Numerous times. 
They are goin to take his adenoid and tonsils out in the next 6 weeks. 
I'm bloody petrifed tho,now set up camp in his room to watch him. 
Is there anythin i can do?? 
Also anyone out there with kids simalir age? Can u offer any advice,exp etc.

Thankyou again. Yes it's good news all in all just wait for he testsnow and move on from there. I knew there was still something goin on from his behaviour at night parents know best he. Go with yainstincts. They relly ae brilliant help yesterday,norm expect o b fobbed of but i was take serious and listened too and it was a postivitve apt yes. Great that th sleep apnea seems to b resolvd but of course i'll keep on gaurd for it returning hopefully it wont.

I shall have a look on that link thanks never heard of it relli,my sister has eilpsey but not in her sleep so this was new to me. I have looked it up since ad sympoms sound very similaire to his behaviour.

Thankyou for allowin me to stay on here,as u say i'm sure it will help others who ma b goin thru similar. i shall most def keep u updated thankyou. You ahve been wit e all thru this so to th end i'l stay :)

So pleased you didn't give up Tracey and that the hospital are listening to you, and taking action Don't worry about the spelling Tracey!  Can't wait to find out the next step so keep us updated, and give yourself a pat on the back - your son is a lucky young man

So glad you have had a positive appointment glad that they are going to do further tests

I hope that they work out whats going on with the next set of tests so your little one can get some treatment if needed and sleep as well as easing your worrys

Well he had his eeg last wed - god he was soooo brave having that done. Get results in few week + said if comes back normal then it be the sleep clinic. So far he's still doing same stuff so we shall see.

hello kath,just wanted o update you on my son. Also happy new year. Well he has had the all clear from sleep apnea now as u know. But still sufferin with sleep. I've many recoridngs and most recently we have alot of bedwettin thrown in. He had an eeg few months back an a blood test came back clear. Tomorow he is being giving a drug called melatonin and brain is being recorded for 2 hours . This is at 9am,so i'm confused tbh! I thought surely he shud be evaluted overnight not at 9am in the mornin and in forced sleep. Our issues are night times,just not sure what there gonna get from this. Shall let u know anyhow.  t xxx

Happy New Year to you too Tracey, but sorry to hear you're still no further on   At least the hospital are trying to get to the bottom of your son's problems though and hope they do soon.  Thanks for keeping us posted.
