Lack of d vitamin is implacated with sleep apnoea, diabetes and heart disease

Yes, it's always worth having Vitamin D level checked, as lots of sleep apnoea sufferers have low levels and need D3. However, I would encourage people not to self-medicate like I once did when I decided to increase the usual dose I take, as I was sick of waiting for my Vitamin D results once that took ages to come back. Turns out that I was borderline toxic with too much, so I quickly stopped them and the symptoms I was having went away. Always get them checked by your GP.
That's interesting. A routine blood test picked up that I was D3 deficient,12 weeks' ago. I'm on a 20 week course of one weekly 20,000 IU capsule, with a review at the end.
Interesting Jonathan, and rare to hear a routine blood test picks this up, as usually people have to ask specifically. Take a look at Dr Gominak's website, although be warned that last time I read it she claims quite often people don't need CPAP and I know many people who need D3 supplements but still have sleep apnoea. I definitely think she's onto something though - just not the answer to everything! http://drgominak.com/vitamin-d-3/
