Any ideas?
Before I started CPAP, my AHI was 36. over the last few months my pressure has been raised from 8, 12, 15, and now to 16. My OA has reduced now from something silly to near enough zero.
What is baffling me is that my CA and Hypopnea readings remain totally unchanged from day 1, giving me an AHI now of around 4, usually made up near totally of CA & Hypopnea... CPAP appears to have had no effect on them whatsoever...??
Any ideas?

I'm not a doctor, and I'm sure one will be along to help! However it's my understanding that normal CPAP isn't particularly effective on central apnoea events. BiPAP and ASV are used for helping treat them.

Darryl, my numbers are similar to yours my AHI was 30, my pressure is set at 4-12 and my AHI is now about 3, 80% of those are CA & Hypoapneas. I don't worry about it because in total, I'm still under 5 and I feel good. The obstructive seems to be treated and as I have both the Central's seem a lot better.

Since my pressure was set at 16, I have hardly had any OA's, and yes, the AHI has fallen to below 5. I was just wondering why the CA and HA's do not seem to be affected whatsoever by CPAP. I must admit that they have reduced slightly when I dropped the Cflex+ setting from 3 to 2...

That is a normal CA reading. Insignificant events such as swallowing, biting, or breath pauses can be caounted as CAs or hypops ffrom time to time. As long as your AHI is under 5 I would not worry.

That's about the same as my best Darryl, although I've never managed a 0.00 for obstructives, but have for CA's + VS.

Before I was diagnosed with OSA, I was diagnosed with a bad Glucose Intolerance. Recent random tests seem to show that my blood sugars have returned to normal. I know I don't suffer any of the symptoms that I used to.... Cheers CPAP!
